Implementation of Lean Manufacturing Process

During the winter and spring of 2008, Jordan transformer has been striving to incorporate the process management principals of "Lean Manufacturing" into its manufacturing philosophy. "Lean" tries to optimize production and increase "flow" by the identification and removal of wastes. The management and supervisors of Jordan Transformer have been through various work shops and meetings to learn and implement the changes which will decrease lead time, improve quality, and increase our work force flexibility to meet our client’s needs. Already the ergonomic changes around the plant are quite visible as production areas, as well as tool and parts placement, have been shifted to improve efficiency and increase production "flow". The commitment to "Lean" principals is an ongoing process and will improve quality and customer satisfaction for years to come.
