Jordan Transformer, LLC Moves Ahead Under New Ames Ownership

During the fall of 2004, the former U.S. Transformer East, Inc. was purchased by Dick Ames, the founder and owner of Ames Construction, Inc., one of the largest road, civil and mining construction firms in the United States. Ames Construction, Inc. has extensive experience in the power plant and utility marketplace and has annual revenues in excess of $500 million. Dick Ames has been a long time Jordan, Minnesota native and it was decided that the new company should take the name of the town where the plant has been providing quality transformer repair and rewind services to the utility and industrial marketplace for the last 32 years.
The new ownership and capitalization structure has allowed the company to move forward with plant improvements and personnel additions. Our sales and marketing department welcomes the return of John Leemhuis and Owen Kragthorpe, both have extensive experience. We have also added Don Mehl to our sales staff. Don has 25 years of combined experience with Ohio Transformer and Southwest Electric. Bill Dickens has returned to our engineering staff. Bill has over 20 years engineering experience including 5 years at the Jordan Facility as well as past employment with GE and Ohio Transformer.
.Jordan Transformer, LLC can repair and rewind transformers up to 50 MVA with voltages of up to 138 kV as well as offering a full range of testing and field services. Look for continued growth and improvement from Jordan Transformer in the upcoming months and years.
