Buyer Position

Jordan Transformer is seeking a full time an employee for our Buyer/Inventory Control position.  The candidate in this position will be responsible for general purchasing duties, inventory management and other duties as needed.


• Handle all vendor relations and material purchases for a custom manufacturing plant
• Negotiate best pricing and lead-time
• Process purchase requisitions, compare quotes, create/send POs to suppliers
• Build relationships with suppliers and provide regular feedback through established vendor management process (price, quality, service)
• Research and qualify new vendors on a continuous basis
• Maintain current purchasing/vendor information in computer system
• Maintain, publish and communicate delivery information, expediting or delaying when required
• Communicate constantly and thoroughly with manufacturing and engineering
• Work with QA on product quality issues and with suppliers on replacement product and credit for returned products
• Receive products in the computer inventory
• Other duties, as assigned

*This is NOT an inventory-management position. 80% of orders placed are for custom, job-specific 


• Minimum of High School Diploma, prefer college education
• 3-5 years of purchasing/inventory control work preferred
• Must have a knowledge of accounting, data processing, ERP(Infor/Syteline) and inventory control
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills are required
• Must be able to move 50 lb. boxes
• Inventory management software experience is required
• Excellent communication, prioritizing, negotiation and organizational skills are required

Transformer Design Engineer

Jordan Transformer, a leader in the power transformer repair industry, is seeking a transformer design engineer.  Applicants should have a thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles of designing high voltage power transformers.  Duties would include gathering original design information, redesigning to modern standards utilizing finite element design programs, and procuring parts.  Applicant should have B.S. in electrical engineering,  minimum 2 years experience, and have permanent US employment authorization.  Position located in Jordan, MN. Field Service Multiple openings:

Field Service Technician candidates should have 2 years experience field testing power transformers and be knowledgeable with different types of tests and equipment.  Technician candidates must be willing to travel extensively.  A good driving record is required.  You must be able to obtain a CDL or carry a current CDL.  We are located in Jordan, MN and offer a professional business environment, excellent income opportunity, and advancement opportunities.
